Pulses Bhel

Ingredients

  • 100 grams chana
  • 50 grams muth
  • 50 grams mung
  • 50 grams carrots (cut into small pieces)
  • 100 grams tomatoes (chopped finely)
  • 100 grams onions (chopped finely)
  • 100 grams potatoes
  • 50 gram sev
  • 6 bread slices
  • 3 pieces cinnamon
  • 5 cloves
  • 2 bay leaves
  • Sweet chutney
  • coriander chutney
  • Garlic chutney
  • 4 table spoons coriander leaves (chopped finely)
  • 1 table spoon red chilli powder
  • Oil
  • Salt to taste

Instructions

  • Soak mung and muth separately overnight. Strain and tie in a muslin cloth in sieve, soak chana overnight. Boil all three pulses.
  • Heat a little oil in a vessel. Add aloves, cinnamon and bay leaves. Fry for a few second. Add all three pulses. Mix well.
  • When done add potatoes, carrots and tomatoes.
  • Cut the bread into small pieces and fry them till they become golden brown. While serving, add the pulse mixture, bread crumbs and chutneys in required quantity mix well. Decorate with chopped coriander leaves.
