Mung Dal Dahiwada

Ingredients

  • 2 cups mung dal
  • 1 cup urad dal
  • 2 tea spoons ginger- chilli paste
  • A pinch asafortida
  • 1 to 1 ½ tea spoons eno’s fruit salt
  • Curds
  • Sweet chutney
  • Red chilli powder
  • Kali mirch
  • Salt to taste

Instructions

  • Soak mung and urad dal for 3 to 4 hours. Blexlerice the mixture to make a coarse batter like dahiwada.
  • Add salt, chili-ginger paste asafetida, and to 1 ½ tea spoons eno. Instead of eno’s fruit salt, a pinch soda and ¾ tea spoon citric acid may be added. Mix properly.
  • Apply a little oil in the sandwich maker, spread the batter in it. When done, soak the wada in luke-warm water. Press lightly to remove excess water pour curds, sweet chutney.
  • Add salt, red chili powder and kali mirch.
