Green Tikki

Ingredients

  • 250 grams potatoes
  • 250 grams peas
  • Oil
  • 4 to 5 cloves of fresh garlic
  • 1 lime
  • 1 tea spoon sesame seeds
  • 2 table spoons desiccated coconut
  • tea spoon garam masala
  • 4 table spoons finely chopped coriander leaves
  • 1 tea spoon green chilli paste
  • 1 cup chana flour
  • 1 tea spoon red chilli powder
  • ΒΌ tea spoon turmeric powder
  • A pinch of asafetida
  • Salt to taste

Instructions

  • Boil peas and potatoes. Peel and grate potatoes. Heat 1 tea spoon oil in a vessel and fry mashed potatoes and peas. Fry for a few minutes. Remove it from the flame. Add all the masalas. Mix properly. Shape into small tikkiyas.
  • Add salt, red chilli powder, asafetida to chana flour. Make batter like that used to make bhajiya. Dip the tikkiyas in the batter. Fry on a slow flame. Serve with coriander leaves, chutney and curds.

Variation

Curds, dates chutney, coriander chutney, salt, red chilli powder, jira powder can be added to make dahiwada.
