Fafda
Ingredients
- 100 gram besan
- 1/2 tea spoon Black pepper powder
- 1/2 tea spoon Hing (asafoetida)
- 1/4 tea spoons Baking soda
- 1/2 tea spoons ajwain (carom seeds)
- 2-3 tea spoons Oil
- 1 tea spoon mixture of sanchal, salt, roasted cumin seeds powder, dhana-jeera powder (mixture of coriander seeds-cumin seeds powder).
- Oil for frying
- Salt to taste
Instructions
- Mix ¼ tea spoon soda and ¼ cup water. (you can add more water if require when knead dough.)
- Take besan in a bowl. Add hing, black pepper powder, salt, ajwain and oil. Mix it.
- Add water and knead into soft dough. Knead it with oil again.
- Take a portion of the dough and make oval shape ball from it.
- Put the ball on a greased rolling pad or any surface.
- Press and drag the dough with base of your palm in a straight line. Pick the strip carefully from surface with sharp knife. Fry 2-3 strips at one time into a pan on the medium heat till it become crisp. Sprinkle masala mixture of sanchal. (Black salt) let them cool. Serve with papaya chin or besan chutney (kadhhi) or green chillies.
