This Indian dessert is very tasty and also hugely popular.There are many variety of ladoos like besan ladoo(gram flour ladoo),til ladoo(sesame seed's ladoo),rava ladoo,bundi ladoo,coconut ladoo,methi ladoo.These Ladoos are all time favorite in many indian households. They stay fresh for many days if stored properly.

Biriyani is the moghlai dish. Vegetables, spices, yougert make it a rich rice dish. We can use this dish as main meal. There is a lot of difference of taste of Pulav and biriyani. When we make pulav, rice is cooked with vegetables; spices while in biriyani we are cooking it separate, then both are cooked in an oven in dry heat. Biriyani looks very colour full because of vegetables like carrot, capsicum, beans, peas, potatoes, onion. Saffron gives it an exotic touch. Dry fruits are made it royal. Methi Ladoo

[Makes 35 to 40 pieces]

Instructions

  • 100 grams dried methi powder
  • (fenugreek seeds)
  • 350 to 400 grams ghee
  • 250 wheat flour (coarse)
  • 300 grams jaggery
  • Dry coconut (grated)
  • A few almonds
  • 250 grams powdered sugar
  • A little khus khus
  • A little dry ginger powder
  • A little ganthoda powder (pepper root )
  • A few magatari seeds (pounded)

Instructions

  • Take enough ghee in a fry pan. Roast the wheat flour in it. Cut the jaggery into small pieces. Remove the wheat flour from the flame.
  • Mix dry coconut, almonds (powdered), magatari seeds, dry ginger powder, ganthoda, powdered sugar and khus khus.
  • Mix the jaggery and the wheat flour. Cool it and mix all the other ingredients. If ghee is less additional ghee may be added. From mixture make the laddo (small ball).

Note: If ladoo’s are made for men 150 grams of gum (pounded) may be added.

If you desire to add more methi flour then reduce wheat flour by the same amount. If urad flour is added, add warm milk and warm ghee to the flour. Rub and press the flour. Leave aside for sometime. Sieve through a steel sieve. Roast in ghee till light brown. Add this and then form lados.

If you want to add more amount of methi, then reduce the amount of wheat flour.
