Ladoo

This Indian dessert is very tasty and also hugely popular.There are many variety of ladoos like besan ladoo(gram flour ladoo),til ladoo(sesame seed's ladoo),rava ladoo,bundi ladoo,coconut ladoo,methi ladoo.These Ladoos are all time favorite in many indian households. They stay fresh for many days if stored properly.

Biriyani is the moghlai dish. Vegetables, spices, yougert make it a rich rice dish. We can use this dish as main meal. There is a lot of difference of taste of Pulav and biriyani. When we make pulav, rice is cooked with vegetables; spices while in biriyani we are cooking it separate, then both are cooked in an oven in dry heat. Biriyani looks very colour full because of vegetables like carrot, capsicum, beans, peas, potatoes, onion. Saffron gives it an exotic touch. Dry fruits are made it royal. Try this recipe and enjoy luscious dish.

[Makes 15 Ladoos]

Ingredients

  • 500 grams wheat flour(coarse)
  • 50 grams chana flour(coarse)
  • 500 grams ghee
  • 250 gms powdered sugar (coarse)
  • 2 tea spoons cardamom powder
  • 2 table spoons milk
  • A few poppy seeds (khus khus)

Instructions

  • Knead the dough of wheat flour and ghee (approx. 50 grams)using warm water for  mixing. Divide the flour into small balls. Shape each portion like a muthiya and press slightly with your fingers.
  • Fry them in ghee on slow flame.
  • Crush them in the mixer of by hand. Sieve the mixture through a steel sieve.
  • Take chana flour in a dish. Add 1 table spoon warm ghee and a little warm milk. Press the flour and leave for sometime. Sieve through a steel sieve. Heat the ghee and roast the chana flour mixture.
  • When cool, add it to the wheat flour mixture. Add sieved powdered sugar, cardamom powder and a little warm ghee.
  • Mix properly and make ladoos or balls roll the ladoos in khus khus.
  • Coarsely powdered sugar can be also be added to the ladoos.
  • Rawa can also be used. Add 75 grams for rawa to wheat flour. For this 300 grams of powdered sugar should be used.
