Pizza

Various Recipes For The Dough

Ingredients 1 For Pizza Base

  • 2 cups maida
  • 3 to 4 table spoons ghee
  • 1 tea spoon soda
  • ½ tea spoon a little citric acid
  • Salt to taste

Instructions 1 For Pizza Base

  • Add ghee to the maida. Mix the other ingredients and knead a semi soft dough using luke warm water. Allow the dough to rest for 4 to 6 hours in the sun or any warm place.
  • Prepare a thick roti and put it on a non-stick pan. Cover with a lid and roast it on both the sides.

Ingredients 2 For Pizza Base

  • 2 cups maida
  • ¾ cup warm water
  • 1 tea spoon sugar
  • 1 ½ to 2 tea spoons fresh or dry yeast
  • 3 table spoons oil or ghee
  • Salt to taste

Instructions 2 For Pizza Base

  • Dissolve the sugar in a bowl of luke warm water. Then add the yeast to it.
  • Cover the vessel with a lid. Keep aside for 10 minutes. When the yeast dissolves in the water, add oil to it.
  • Mix the flour, salt, yeast and add enough warm water to make a soft dough.
  • Apply a little oil to the palms. Knead the dough for 5 to 10 minutes.
  • Cover the dough and allow it to rest in the sun or a warm place for 4 to 6 hours. When the dough is almost double in size, knead it again. Divide the dough into medium size balls.
  • Press flat with the help of a flat surface e.g. dish, using enough maida if required. Apply a little oil and sprinkle grated cheese. Cover with a lid and bake in a hot oven.

  • 2 cups maida
  • 2 tea spoons baking powder
  • A little curds
  • Salt to taste

Instructions 3 For Pizza Base

  • Mix all the ingredients and make a soft dough by adding water. Knead well.
  • Allow it to rest for 7 to 8 hours. Divide the dough into medium size balls.
  • Press flat with the help of a flat surface e.g. a dish. Cover with a lid and bake in a hot oven.

Ingredients 4 For Pizza Base

  • 200 grams maida
  • 1 tea spoon baking powder
  • 3 table spoons ghee
  • ¾ cup milk
  • Salt to taste

Instructions 4 For Pizza Base

  • Sieve the maida and baking powder. Mix all the ingredients and make a soft dough.
  • Allow it to rest in a warm place.
  • Divide the dough into medium size balls. Press flat with the flat surface e.g. a dish. Place in a greased baking dish. Bake in a hot oven.

Ingredients 5 For Pizza Base

  • ¾ cup curds
  • 1 tea spoon soda
  • 1 tea spoon sugar
  • 2 cups maida
  • Salt to taste

  • substitute fresh yeast by using a mixture of ½ tea spoon soda, ½ cup sour curds, ½ tea spoon sugar, ½ tea spoon salt. Mix all ingredients and keep aside for 5 minutes.
  • Then use it for kneading the dough. Allow the dough to rest for 2 hours.
  • If you like soft pizzas, add curds in the dough.
  • If you like hard pizza then add less curds or avoid curds. Instead use citric acid.
  • Pizza's can be also made by adding enough ghee to the maida .Add salt and a pinch of soda. Allow the dough to rest for 3 hours.

Quick Pizza:

Substitute the pizza base by the regular bread slices are used. Remove the crust from the bread slices.

Apply a little butter and toast the bread slice till it becomes, light brown in colour. Spread a little gravy, finely chopped onions and capsicum slices. Sprinkle grated cheese. Serve immediately.
