In ancient time nankhatai had been made with the use of thali with fire coal. Nowadays we are mostly using microwave. Nan Khatai are so easy to prepare and will take very little of your time. You can serve it on a tea party or kitty party.

Cheese Macaroni

Ingredients

  • 1 cup macaroni (boiled)
  • 2 table spoons ghee
  • 2 table spoons maida
  • 2 cups milk
  • ½ tea spoon sugar
  • 1 capsicum (optional)
  • A little rawa
  • 1 to 2 cheese cubes
  • Tomato ketchup
  • Salt to taste

Instructions

  • In plenty of water add the macaroni and a little salt. Cook in a pressure cooker upto 4 whistles.
  • Heat a little ghee in a vessel. Add the maida and roast it for a few minutes. Add the milk slowly and stir constantly.
  • Prepare the white sauce. Add salt, pepper powder and sugar to the sauce. Wash the macaroni in running water. Add the macaroni to the white sauce.
  • Add the chopped capsicums. Boil the mixture for few minutes. Pour the mixture in a greased baking dish. Sprinkle a little rawa and grated cheese over it.
  • Bake in hot oven for few minutes.
  • While serving, add tomato ketchup and sprinkle grated cheese to it.

Further Details

Boiled vegetables can also be added. To make vegetable macaroni, steam the vegetables like French beans, carrots and green peas.

Serves for 3-4 people.
