Nan Khatai

Eggless Indian biscuit which is serve with tea. They are most like to be flavoured with some of the usual ingredients like- green cardamom, saffron, pista. In ancient time nankhatai had been made with the use of thali with fire coal. Nowadays we are mostly using microwave. Nan Khatai are so easy to prepare and will take very little of your time. You can serve it on a tea party or kitty party.

Black Forest Cake
Ingredients
- 200 grams butter (homemade or outer)
- 250 to 300 grams powdered sugar
- 225 grams maida
- 200 grams milk powder
- 1 level tea spoon soda
- 1 level tea spoon baking powder
- 2 table spoons drinking chocolate
- 6 to 8 table spoons cocoa powder
- 350 ml thumps up or coke or pepsi
Instructions
- Beat the butter well. Add the sugar and beat well again until the mixture is light and creamy.
- Sieve the flour, milk powder, drinking chocolate, soda, baking [powder and cocoa together twice.
- Go on adding the flour mixture to the creamed butter, 1 spoon at a time. Go on mixing well. Do this until the mixture becomes harder. Then add all the remaining flour mixture together and mix very well with hand.
- Add 350 ml of thumbs up and mix well, so that no lumps are formed.
- Grease and dust a baking tin of the handva cooker. Fill the lower vessel with sand. Heat the sand by heating the vessel for few minutes.
- Then pour the cake mixture into the baking tin and cook it on a high flame for 5 to 10 minutes.
- Then cook it on a low flame for another 20 minutes. When the cake leaves the sides of the tin, it is said to be 'done'. Remove the cake from the flame. Cool the cake for 20 minutes.
- Then turn the tin upside down and remove the cake. Divide the cake into 2 parts horizontally. Place the frosting on the lower part. Put the other part on the top and press well.
- Decorate the cake with the frosting on all sides. Preceed for icing on the top.
Further Details
You can bake the cake in oven at 100° C for 25 to 30 minutes.
If you want dark coloured cake then add more amount of cocoa powder.
Serves for 25-30 people.
