Nan Khatai

Eggless Indian biscuit which is serve with tea. They are most like to be flavoured with some of the usual ingredients like- green cardamom, saffron, pista. In ancient time nankhatai had been made with the use of thali with fire coal. Nowadays we are mostly using microwave. Nan Khatai are so easy to prepare and will take very little of your time. You can serve it on a tea party or kitty party.

Baked vegetables

Ingredients

4 potatoes
4 slices pineapple
100 grams carrots
100 grams French beans
100 grams green peas
2 cups white sauce
½ tea spoon pepper powder
1 table spoon sugar
1 table spoon ghee
1 table spoon maida
2 cubes cheese
A little rawa
Tomato ketchup
Salt to taste

Instructions

Chop the potatoes and pineapple into small square pieces. Chop the carrots and French beans finely. Boil all the pineapple. Drain in a colander.
Prepare the white sauce by mixing ½ cup maida, 1 ¼ cups cold milk and a little water. Boil the mixture till it is thick enough. Add salt, pineapple and pepper powder to it.
Mix vegetable, sugar and salt.
Grease and dust a baking dish. Spread grated cheese and rawa over it. Bake it on a high flame for 10 minutes and then on a low flame. Remove it from the flame when the upper layer becomes crispy and the lower layer starts sticking. It can also be baked in a hot oven.

Further Details

You may substitute rawa by 2 or 3 marie of glucose biscuits (powdered). It would make the layer more crispy.

Fill the lower dish the handwa maker with sand.

1 cup boiled spaghetti may be added.

Serves for 4-5 people.
